随着“冷战”的终结，自20世纪90年代以来，美国中国学发生了很大的变化。受后现代主义学术的影响，其学术理路亦有所改变。相对而言，中国学术界对这门特殊学术的关注程度亦大大提升，很多研究者已不满足于进行一般性的译介，通过潜心研究，相继推出颇具学术含量的、含有学术史意义的研究成果。这一切，都预示着美国中国学及其研究开始进入了比较成熟的发展阶段。本文试图以世纪之交为背景，从跨世纪的角度，对大洋两岸美国中国学近年来的发展变化做一学术史的梳理，同时对它的未来走向做出初步的展望。
After the cold war，there have been great changes of Chinese Studies in the United States since the 1990s.Under the influence of postmodernism，its academic interpretations have also been changed.Meanwhile，the Chinese academic circles have paid much more attention to this special area of study.Many Chinese researchers began to engage in various indepth studies rather than focusing on the general translation of research from American scholars.This trend indicates that Chinese studies in the United States have entered a relatively mature stage.From the perspective of cross-century，the author conducted a critical analysis of the academic history of both sides of the pacific.Meanwhile，the author also discussed the development trends of Chinese Studies in the United States.
