形态：小型鸟类，体长9-11cm。尾短。下体黄色，翼上具两排白色点斑，嘴甚短。雄鸟头及胸兜黑色，颊斑及颈后点斑白色，上体蓝灰，腰银白。雌鸟头部灰色较重，喉白，与颊斑之间有灰色的下颊纹，眉略具浅色点。幼鸟似雌鸟但色暗，上体多橄榄色。

虹膜褐色；嘴黑色；脚褐色。

分布：中国东南部地区有分布。在保护区属很常见的旅鸟和冬候鸟。

习性：主要栖息于山地针叶林和混交林中，有间发性的种群爆发现象。主要以昆虫和昆虫幼虫为食，非繁殖期也吃一些植物性食物。
