Money　Spent　by　SEU　Undergraduates　Each　Month

2.Project　Time

Aug.18～Sept.9，2011

3.Project　Objectives：

（1）To　perform　a　survey　of　SEU　undergraduates’consumption　level and　structure.

（2）To　determine　whether　college　students’expense　is　equal　to　their family　condition.

（3）To　know　about　the　spending　habits　of　undergraduates　nowadays.

（4）To　help　undergraduates　form　alternative　ideas　of　consumption.

4.Research　Background

Undergraduates　who　have　little　or　no　income　are　gaining　more attention　because　of　their　high　consumption.They　have　their　own ideas　about　money　spending　styles　due　to　their　young　age　and　special social　roles.On　the　one　hand，they　have　strong　consumer　demand.But　on　the　other　hand，they　are　far　from　being　financially independent，which　results　in　their　low　level　purchasing.So　the conflicts　between　demand　and　shortage　of　money　have　a　huge　impact on　forming　undergraduates’ideas　of　consumption.During　this process，irrational　purchases　may　occur　and　some　wrong　ideas　are unavoidable.We　will　survey　undergraduates’spending　habits　to　find out　the　problem　and　offer　some　guidance.

5.Summary　of　Methods

（1）Perform　an　online　survey；

（2）Give　out　questionnaires（including　Chinese　and　foreigners，boys and　girls）；

（3）Interview　some　college　students

a.What　do　you　think　of　undergraduates’consumption　and　ability　of managing　money？

b.What　can　we　do　to　help　undergraduates　make　a　right　idea　of consumption？

c.Nowadays，many　students　will　find　a　part　time　job　to　gain　some pocket　money　to　buy　something　they　like.How　do　you　think　of the　phenomena？

（4）Consult　teachers　and　parents.

（1）Are　undergraduates’expense　equal　to　their　family　conditions？

（2）Do　undergraduates’idea　of　consumption　and　ability　of　managing

money　need　to　be　better　informed　and　improved？

We　think　we　will　find　that　students　spend　more　money　than　they can　afford.We　want　to　make　a　summary　of　undergraduates’spending habits　and　give　them　some　advice　on　how　to　spend　money　wisely.And　we　wish　that　some　undergraduates　may　reduce　their　cost through　the　conclusion　we　will　come　to.
