2009年是奥巴马总统当选后执政第一年，美方出席我驻美大使馆举行的国庆招待会的规格相当高，派了内阁部长级的贸易谈判代表、负责经济事务的副国务卿以及美军参谋长联席会议主席出席致贺。井上健参议员作为中国全国人大与美国参议院交流机制的美方负责人也出席了招待会。这也是我驻美使馆首次在新馆舍大厅举行国庆招待会。
演讲文稿
尊敬的美国贸易代表柯克大使，尊敬的霍麦茨副国务卿，尊敬的美军参谋长联席会议主席马伦上将，尊敬的井上健参议员，女士们、先生们：
晚上好！
我谨代表中国政府，热烈欢迎各位来到中国大使馆，与13亿中国人民一起欢庆中华人民共和国成立60周年。我也愿借此机会向长期关心中国、支持中美关系的朋友们表示衷心的感谢（1）。
新中国成立60年来，特别是改革开放30年来，中国的现代化建设取得了伟大成就。
从1952年到2008年，中国的国内生产总值保持了年均8.1%的增长速度，国民经济增长了77倍，达到4.4万亿美元，位列世界第三。人均收入增长32.4倍，达到3000美元。中国的外汇储备达到1.9万亿美元。

Good evening!
On behalf of the Chinese government，I wish to extend to you our warmest welcome to the Chinese Embassy.We are deeply honored that you have come to join the 1.3 billion Chinese people in celebrating the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.I wish to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks to all those who have long cared for China and supported China-US relations（1）.
Since the founding of the People’s Republic 60 years ago，particularly since the beginning of reform and opening-up three decades ago，China has made tremendous progress toward modernization.
From 1952 to 2008，we maintained an annual GDP growth rate of 8.1%.Our economy expanded by 77 times，amounting to 4.4 trillion US dollars and becoming the third largest in the world.Per capita income increased by 32.4 times，reaching 3,000 US dollars.And foreign exchange reserves totalled 1.9 trillion US dollars.
更为重要的是，经过60年的探索，中国人民找到了一条符合中国国情、顺应历史潮流的发展道路。中国已经成为推动世界经济发展最重要的引擎，同时也是维护世界和平、稳定和繁荣的一支重要力量。
今年也是中美建交30周年（2）。我们高兴地看到，在双方共同努力下，中美关系在过去的30年中取得长足的发展。中美关系的战略地位和全球影响日益凸显，推动中美关系发展的动力发生了深刻的变化。
奥巴马总统就任以来，中美关系取得良好开局。胡锦涛主席和奥巴马总统今年四月在伦敦成功会晤，上周二在纽约再次会晤，就双方共同努力建设21世纪积极合作全面的中美关系达成重要共识，为新时期中美关系发展指明了方向。
我们期待奥巴马总统于11月访问中国，相信在双方共同努力下，访问一定会取得成功（3）。
中美在克服当前经济和金融危机、应对气候变化和能源安全、处理国际和地区热点以及维护世界和平和安全等广泛领域有着共同利益。
More important，through 60 years of exploration，the Chinese people have found the road to development that is suitable to China’s reality and consistent with the historic trends.China has become the most important engine of world economic growth.And China is also an important force for world peace，stability and prosperity.
This year also marks the 30th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between China and the United States（2）.We are pleased to see that with the joint efforts from both sides，China-US relationship has made remarkable progress over the past three decades.The strategic and global significance of China-US relationship is becoming more and more prominent，and the driving force behind this relationship is undergoing profound changes.
Since President Obama came into office，we have had a good start in China-US relations.President Hu Jintao and President Obama met twice，first in London last April and then in New York last Tuesday.They have reached important agreement on working together to build a positive，cooperative and comprehensive China-US relationship for the 21st century.This has pointed out the future direction of our bilateral relations.
We are looking forward to President Obama’s visit to China in November.We believe that with the concerted efforts of the two sides，the visit will be successful（3）.
China and the United States have common interests in a wide range of areas—be it overcoming the current international economic and financial crisis，tackling global issues such as climate change and energy security，handling international and regional hotspot issues，or maintaining international peace and security.
当前，中美关系正站在新的起点上，面临着进一步发展的重要机遇。一个良好的中美关系不仅有利于两国和两国人民，而且有利于维护亚太地区乃至整个世界的和平、稳定和繁荣（4）。
我们相信，只要中美两国从战略高度看待和处理中美关系，着眼加强对话、扩大合作，在相互尊重的基础上妥善处理分歧和敏感问题，中美关系的未来将更加充满希望。
女士们、先生们：
随着经济全球化不断发展，中国与世界的相互依存将继续加深。中国将始终坚持和平发展道路，与各国一道，建设一个和平和繁荣的世界。
最后，我提议，
为中国人民的幸福，
为美国人民的幸福，
为中美关系的不断发展，
为在座各位朋友的健康，

China-US relationship is standing at a new starting point and faced with important opportunities for further growth.A good China-US relationship is not only in the fundamental interests of our two countries and peoples but also conducive to peace，stability and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region and the world at large（4）.
We believe that as long as the two countries view and handle their relations from a strategic perspective，focus on enhancing dialogue and expanding cooperation，and appropriately address their differences and sensitive issues on the basis of mutual respect，China-US relations will have an even more promising future.
Ladies and Gentlemen，
As economic globalization continues to develop，interdependence between China and the rest of the world will continue to deepen.China will always stay on the road to peaceful development and work closely with all countries of the world for the peace and prosperity of our planet.
To conclude，I wish to propose a toast，
To the wellbeing of the Chinese people，
To the wellbeing of the American people，
To the continued growth of China-US relations，and
To the health of all friends present here this evening!
