不要温和地走进那个良夜，
暮年仍应在生命的尽头燃烧咆哮；
怒吼，怒吼，面对即将散尽的光华。

尽管智慧的人在临终前知道黑暗的定数，
但他们的言语没有激起雷鸣电闪，他们
并没有温和地走进那个良夜。

善良的人，当最后一浪袭去，高声呐喊，
他们脆弱的言行在绿色的海湾里舞动，
怒吼，怒吼，面对即将散尽的光华。

狂野的人抓住飞驰的太阳，为之歌唱，

从此诗中我们可以感受到诗人对“暮年”表现出的大无畏精神：其实没有什么能阻止岁月匆匆的脚步，生命的意义不仅在于其“长度”，也在于其“宽度”，当诗人用激昂的言语勉励他那无助而“温顺”的父亲，勉励每一位老去的人以及每一位终将老去的年轻人“暮年仍应燃烧咆哮”、“失明的眼可以像流星般闪耀”，也让人对“流年”多了一分领悟。
