学名：Podiceps cristatus
英名：Great Crested Grebe
形态：中型游禽，体长45-48cm，是中个体最大的。颈修长，具显著的深色羽冠，下体近白，上体纯灰褐。繁殖期成鸟颈背栗色，颈具鬃毛状饰羽。非繁殖期额、头顶、后颈和上体黑褐色，余部白色。
虹膜橙红色；嘴黑褐色（冬季红色），嘴基部红色，尖端苍白色；脚近黑色。
分布：中国大部分地区有分布。在保护区属常见冬候鸟。冬季在老虎尾水域常见。
习性：繁殖于开阔的江河、湖泊、沼泽地带。冬季多栖息在沿海海湾、河口。主要以各种鱼类为食，也吃一些水生无脊椎动物和水生植物。

HH: Breeds at open rivers， lakes and swampy areas.Winters along coastal bays and estuaries.Dive to feed mainly on fish， and also some aquatic invertebrates and plants.
